Les Jeux Ardennais

An afternoon of artistic and sporting competitions is being organized by Marinette Dozeville and Frédéric Liver, two artists who have been living in the Ardennes for several years, at the invitation of Le Manège.
The Jeux Ardennais (Ardennes Games) have been developed with the inhabitants of the department throughout the 2023-2024 season. These developments have taken place in their clubs, classrooms, and at regular meetings and collective work. This large, non-competitive tournament features artistic interventions and offbeat improvisations and draws on local sporting practices, proposing a shift in their codes.
The artists and participants’ intentions are evident: to challenge the boundaries between athletic and artistic performance, to spotlight the extraordinary in unexpected places, to explore the artistic and whimsical facets of sports, and to meld the distinctions between sports and art.
