Do You Dance?
Commissioned by the Abbé Pierre Foundation / C’est pas du luxe Festival.
What is this impulse which suddenly sweeps over you when you are listening to one of your favourite hits? Why does everyone have such a profound relationship with their body and their way of moving? Why do we dance?
Upon invitation by the Abbé Pierre Foundation, the Marinette Dozeville Company takes over FabricA in order to examine and share in our relationship with dance. To prepare the evening, dancers from the Company – Marinette Dozeville, Chloé Favriau, Anne Bogard and Agnès Pancrassin – hosted workshops at institutions which combat extreme poverty, bringing together residents, dance enthusiasts, volunteers and local people in several towns in France.
Vous dansez? is given free rein as a show suitable for all audiences in a modified form of the participatory dance originally conceived, following the health restrictions of September, 2020.
The original commission would lead to Vous dansez? #2 in September, 2021.
