VOAR ou l’heure du vertige is spurred on by pictures taken by Portuguese photographer Helena Almeida. It stages bodies fighting, a genuine militant corps who are committed to using all their might on a frantic quest to spread their wings and free themselves.
Get back on your feet, start over, try time and again…
This is an aspiration for a kind of flight, a potential verticality, whatever it might be, as opposed to one’s terrestrial reality which condemns one to stay on the ground and remain anchored in the absurdity of one’s condition which is one of finiteness. It is a need, which is as noble as it is vain – perhaps noble precisely because it is vain – always to get back on one’s feet, to start again, move forward, try again, indeed try time and again…
How can one respond, position oneself and militate for flight despite everything?
